Stomping and Dancing, or Ta Ge in Chinese, depicts a group of young girls singing songs and appreciating the beauty of the area south of the Yangtze River, in a performance by the Beijing Dance Academy.
This time-honored form of singing and dancing, which has spread throughout China, originated in ancient times, as evidenced by relics recording the art form, such as a Neolithic pottery basin unearthed in Datong county, Northwest China's Qinghai province.
