Dali was once an economic and cultural center for centuries in Yunnan province. Now, it is a popular destination for tourists captivated by its breathtaking scenery and vibrant ethnic cultures.
For many artists, Dali is a place that's poetic, idyllic and nostalgic.
Romance and Homesickness, an exhibition at the National Art Museum of China until June 6, shows 75 Chinese ink paintings and oil works by noted artists from across the country, hailing the natural wonders and cultural beauty of Dali.
