The concept theatrical show 2047 Apologue, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Zhang Yimou, is now on tour from May 21 to June 12, with eight performances selected from its previous three seasons.
The show is known for its application of advanced multimedia stage technology, including lasers and holograms, and a diverse range of Chinese traditional and folk art elements such as Peking Opera and guqin (seven-string zither).
According to He Lulu, chief executive director of the show, the eight programs are selected to offer the audience an eclectic experience, ranging from vocal and dance performances, to those with an emphasis on high-tech visual effects.
The show is now touring cities including Sichuan province's Chengdu, Guangdong province's Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Anhui province's Hefei.
