Liu Xuechun was a farmer and then a cleaner before she found painting a real passion of her life. She didn't go to a formal art school.

Her work is rooted on the many aspects of rural life, being nurtured by the richness of Chinese folk cultures and arts. Meanwhile, after moving to cities, urban experiences have broadened her vision to render a modern touch to her brushwork.

Innocence is the Best, an exhibition at the Shi Art Museum until May 27, shows dozens of Liu's paintings in which one will be touched by a woman's creativity, imagination and sincerity, as well as her belief in life and art.
