A cultural creative base known for oil paintings and a growing number of painters, Longtan village is located deep in the mountains of Pingnan county, East China's Fujian province. It has become a popular tourist destination in China in recent years due to its artistic atmosphere. But six years ago, the impoverished village had a different image from today.
