The attendees were trying to seek clues to figure out what the performance was really about when they noticed Spanish contemporary artist Carlos Arroyo Galaxia stroll in the room and quietly give instructions to these designers.

The 35-year-old is the brains behind the current performance, which is part of his project Chinese pattern: the authenticity of the fake that opened two days later.

A big-eyed man with a head of grey hair, Galaxia was dressed in a multicolor striped shirt, a garment that looked similar to the ones created by the ostensible designers.

“I created this project about fake, but I’m not supposed to be here as the image. I’m not the creator – they are the creators,” said Galaxia, pointing to the designers.

When further asked why he thought so, the artist from Valencia said that he actually wants people to be lost, to be confused about the fake.

Attendees gradually seemed to grasp what the performance was really about. “Oh, it’s like a rough emulation of the process of how fake clothes were produced by Chinese businesses,” one visitor said to his companions.
