The Czech Philharmonic Orchestra will start its China tour from mid-May, bringing a classical music feast to seven major Chinese cities, including Beijing, Nanjing, Wuhan, Hangzhou and Fuzhou.

Three years after its 2016 tour in China, the 120-year-old orchestra is expected to interpret classic works by six renowned Czech composers, such as Antonin Dvorak's Romance, Op 11; Bedrich Smetana's The Moldau (My Country – Second Movement); Josef Suk's Fairy Tale, Op 16, The Swans and Peacocks Game (Second Movement); and Oskar Nedbal's Valse Triste (Sad Waltz).

The performances are part of a memorandum of understanding inked by China Poly Group Corp Ltd, Czech Philharmonic and Jiangsu Cultural Investment. According to the agreement, the three parties are also expected to enhance cooperation in the future in areas including music festivals, artist exchanges and art education.
