Ambassador Qiu said that in recent years, China-Mexico relations have maintained a comprehensive and rapid development momentum in the fields of politics, economy, trade, culture and tourism. In particular, exchanges and cooperation in culture and arts have strengthened people-to-people bond, as well as enhanced mutual appreciation, understanding and respect between the two peoples. Children are the hope of the future and the bond to strengthen ties between the two countries.
Qiu added that the theme of next year's painting competition is "A Journey to China", and he hoped that the participating children and parents will have the opportunity to travel to China. He also hoped that Mexican children will not only make achievements in artistic creation, but also become diplomats like him in the future, contributing more to the future cooperation between China and Mexico.
At the ceremony, honorary certificates and prizes were presented to the awarded children, and the albums of painting works were released.
The children's painting competition in Mexico "China in My Imagination" has been held for five times. In the past four competitions, 3,923 entries were collected, among which 611 entries were shortlisted. This year’s exhibition is open to the public free of charge until February 14.
