After their last performance at the National Center for the Performing Arts, the Berliner Philharmoniker, under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel, returned to the venue and presented two concerts at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing, on Nov 22 and 23, with repertories including Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 in C-sharp minor and Shostakovich Symphony No. 5 in D minor, Op. 47.
Marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of Leonard Bernstein, one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century, Berliner Philharmoniker also performed the American composer’s Divertimento, which he composed in 1980.
On Nov 23, renowned Chinese pianist Lang Lang will join in the concert, playing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor, K. 491 with the Berliner Philharmoniker.
