The concert was a part of the second anniversary celebrations for the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce. The celebration also saw the launch the "Silk Road cultural park" project which is planned to be a platform for cultural exchanges in Xi'an, Shanxi province.
The chamber spared no efforts in boosting cultural links between the different countries and regions.
Lyu Jianzhong, president of the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce, explained why the chamber, as a commercial association, gave such a priority to cultural exchanges.
"The Silk Road is a road to peace. We can promote friendship and understanding among people from a variety of cultures through cultural activities, which is surely conducive to the commercial cooperation among countries."
