Green Grass along the Riverand Steve Ma

Premiered in 1992, the TV series was adapted from Chiung's novelSix Dreams. It tells the story of two orphans, Qing Qing and Xiao Cao. They are sisters and try to change their fate by choosing the life they want to lead rather than letting others decide for them.

Steve Ma, who played many leading roles in TV adaptations of Chiung's novels, played protagonist He Shiwei in the series. Due to his exaggerated expressions, especially loud cries, he is nicknamed as "Howler" or "King of Roar".
