An international cultural expo to be held in Dunhuang, Northwest China's Gansu province, will revolve around the spirit of Silk Road and the cooperation among countries as part of the Belt and Road Initiative.
The annual Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo, running from Sept 20 to Oct 7, will be inaugurated with a rich program including seminars and exhibitions displaying artworks from around the globe.
Chiefly curated by China Arts and Entertainment Group under the Ministry of Culture, the upcoming expo will have France as the guest country of honor, which will show some 400 works to reveal the connection between French culture and the Silk Road. On display will be paintings and drawings of artists such as Pablo Picasso and Eugene Delacroix, as well as antiques from Lyon’s Textile Museum, many of which will make a debut in China. Also to entertain the audience are photos, music, films and fashions that celebrate the diversity of French arts.
Another highlight exhibition will show selected cultural relics from China’s museums and cultural institutions in testimony to ancient China's exchanges with the civilizations along the Silk Road.
