The 2014 PREMIER Marching Percussion Music Arts Festival opening ceremony was held at the residence of the British Embassy. Peter Williams, the director of China-Britain Business Council, Britain Chambers mentioned in his speech that cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two countries have achieved all-round development. Marching percussion music, originated in Britain, plays an active role in enhancing the mutual understanding and friendship of the two peoples.

The purpose of this activity is to popularize marching performance, promote and encourage more young people to take part in marching performance. With communication, understanding and a greater investment in skill, training and exchange, both countries can take advantage of this great international opportunity. And build wider bridges for dialogue between civilizations and greater understanding between two peoples.

Students from Jinfan Art Troupe of the primary school attached to Chaoyang Normal School provided an excellent marching percussion music performance for the audience. Most of these children are in grade five and six, and their performance made melody, rhythm, technique, figure, formation integrated, reflecting strong teamwork spirit. Performance with highly difficulties made by two artists from Navy Band won the exclamation and applause.
