A Chinese painting and calligraphy exhibition in New Zealand was successfully held at Asia-Pacific Books Cultural Center in Auckland on Aug 21. Chinese Consul General in Auckland Niu Qingbao, Cultural Consul Zhang Heqing, president of China Federation groups and community Huang Weizhang and more than 60 other guests attended the art exhibition event.

The exhibition was co-hosted by the New Zealand Chinese Calligraphers Association and the Chinese Artists Association. The New Zealand Chinese Calligraphers Association includes more than 50 Chinese calligraphers and calligraphy fans, which is the only Chinese calligraphy art group in New Zealand.

New Zealand Chinese Artists Association is composed of more than 20 professional artists and is New Zealand's largest Chinese painters group. The two associations accepted the proposal of "Chinese Painting and Calligraphy to go global" by the organizing committee, and established the New Zealand committee of the "Chinese Painting and Calligraphy to go global".
