2014-08-13 11:12:40

About 300 pieces of jade artifacts are now on show at the Shandong Museum, in Jinan, capital city of Shandong province.

The exhibition, with the most number of jade relics of the Dawenkou, Longshan and Liangzhu cultures ever shown in China, introduces ancient jade cultures in terms of prehistoric life, etiquette and funerary rites.

The Dawenkou culture (4100-2600 BC) was based in present-day Shandong province.

The Longshan culture (about 3000-2000BC) was a Neolithic culture of the Yellow River Valley in the Shandong, Henan, Shanxi, Shaanxi, and Hubei provinces of China.

The well-known Liangzhu culture (3400-2250 BC) was a late Neolithic culture that lived in the Yangtze River Delta, Southeast China.

The exhibit runs through Nov 9.
