A gala was staged on a cruise ship on the Seine in Paris on Sept 27 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

In attendance at the gala were Chinese ambassador to France Lu Shaye, director Yan Zhenquan of the China Cultural Center in Paris, General Manager He Liqin of the Bank of China's Paris Branch and about 150 other guests from French government and cultural circles, as well as other international organizations and delegations in Paris.

In his speech, Lu noted this year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relationship between China and France. Under the strategic leadership of the two countries’ presidents, bilateral ties have been more promising than ever.
