Jointly held by the China Cultural Center in Paris and the Paris branch of the Bank of China, the event featured a fashion show of Chinese modern and traditional attire, plus artistic performances and a photo exhibition.
TANGY Collection, known as a brand with ecological responsibility, was the only contemporary fashion clothing brand in the fashion show. A series of Chinese outfits made with gambiered Guangdong silk, demonstrating the contemporary innovative vitality in China’s field of design, was presented.
Gambiered Guangdong silk is an ancient type of silk from Guangdong dating back more than 2000 years. It is dyed by hand with the juice of dioscorea cirrhosa, which is a wild plant with medicinal properties, particularly beneficial for the skin. The complicated technology and process makes gambiered Guangdong silk one of the most expensive silks.
