The X-Men franchise will include the original trilogy and the new trilogy, as well as a special black-and-white edition of critically acclaimed Logan and the violent Deadpool not previously screened in China.
Beijing Film Panorama will also showcase other blockbusters and significant classics, including Avatar, Titanic, It, Get Out, The Grand Budapest Hotel and restored edition of The Seven Samurai by Japanese film guru Akira Kurosawa.
The organizers said the movie screenings will also mark the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up policy through Chinese classic films made over the last four decades, such as The World, My Memories of Old Beijing, Black Snow and Waiting Alone. There will also be a section to celebrate women’s success by screening films including Woman, Demon, Human, Sacrificed Youth, Angels Wear White, The Beguiled, and Battle of the Sexes.
During the screening fest, various creators of key films will be invited to Beijing for pre- and post-screening exchanges.
The official poster for the film festival was also released yesterday, which was selected from 972 pieces of art submissions from the public and commissioned artists. The 8th Beijing International Film Festival will be held from April 15 - 22.
