The gala night was attended by over 200 guests including the CEO of Save the Children International and former Prime Minister of Denmark Helle Thorning-Schmidt, former prime minister of Australia Julia Eileen Gillard, ambassadors and diplomats from different countries, celebrities including Ruby Lin, Ning Jing, Sha Yi, Leewei, Bonnie Chen, Rao Xueman, Xu Guangyu, artist Chen Wenling, Fan Yaping, representatives from Sinic Real Estate Company, Mebo International Group and other corporations, as well as representatives from various NGOs.
The organizers also launched "The Fund for the Development of Women and Children" at the gala in support of development programs such as the newborn health program, the Kangaroo Mother Care maternal and infant health program, and the family education program based in the communities, among others. Virtual Reality videos of two humanitarian programs were shown to help guests better understand the various challenges faced by children and mothers in Liangshan, Sichuan province, and Somalia.
