Soka Art Beijing's newly opened exhibition, Three Artists, shows the works of Zhang Yingnan, Mitsuhiro Ikeda and Wan Ting Yu, three artists who are of similar age, from different background and are devoted to painting. The exhibition runs until June 11.
Zhang, 36, from Beijing, focuses on people's loneliness and emotional isolation from each other. He says mobile phones and the internet have made life convenient but they don't make people feel warmer.
In his latest works on show, Japan's 39-year-old Ikeda shows barren fields, abandoned buildings and clusters of old woods. He is inspired by an eight-month-long trip in Europe in 2014. He set out from Belgium and finally reached Turkey. He saw beautiful landscapes and also encountered war refugees. He compares the subjects in his paintings with the people and land torn by war and conflicts.
Wang, 36 and from Taipei, creates constellation-like images in his paintings. He adds gold, silver and bronze foils to present a glorious and dazzling effect.
