Wang says he has increasingly favored abstract expressionism in recent years.
"Painting abstract brings me the joy of being uncontrolled of my brush and feeling, which is quite different from painting still-life," he says.
He says he visited 11 art museums in Europe that have intensified his understanding of painting.
The current exhibition is being held during a preview of the Beijing International Poly Auctions' autumn sales over the weekend. The paintings will be auctioned on Dec 22 at an inaugural sale of Poly Huaji Auction, a joint corporation based in Shanghai. The proceeds will go to a charity fund established by Huayi Brothers Media.
The company was established based on a strategic cooperative agreement which Wang signed with Beijing Poly International Auctions and Tianchen Times, a Beijing-based cultural corporation that Wang co-founded, in June.
