Feitian Awards is a biennial event that awards excellence in Chinese television. The awards were established in 1981 by the Ministry of Culture, and soon taken over by China's media watchdog State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and the Motion Picture and Arts Committee of China.
As the longest-running television award ceremony in China, it is is the highest government honor one can receive in the television industry. Feitian Awards, along with the Golden Eagle Awards and the Magnolia Awards, are the three most prestigious awards given in China.
7,534 episodes from 200 domestic TV series, broadcast from March 1, 2013 to Sept 30, 2015, in China, were considered for the 30th Feitian Awards. Out of 48 nominees, Romance of our parents, Tiger mom, Obstetrician, Nirvana in Fire and Red Sorghum were major winners.
