2019 marks the first time for taekwondo to be included in the China-ASEAN International Children’s Culture and Art Festival, with competitions set to take place June 2 and 3[please check these dates – the initial version seemed incorrect, as the dates for competition were before the news conference, thank you!] at Jiangnan stadium in Nanning, as announced at a news conference for the 2019 My Zoo Cup youth taekwondo competition held in Nanning on May 9.

This year's event is jointly organized by the committee for the China-ASEAN International Children's Culture and Arts Festival, the China-ASEAN Youth Taekwondo competition committee and the Nanning Social Sports Development Center.

More than 2,000 taekwondo elites have gathered in Nanning ahead of the competition. Zhuo Jun, spokesperson for the Sichuan Children's Fund, and Ye Xiaofei, the world's golden belt champion, plan to attend the event. The competition provides a platform for amateur taekwondo athletes to fully showcase their talent, according to the organizers.
