After three quarters of 48 pairs of cards, China’s youth team eventually won 156-67, qualifying for the 2020 World Youth Championships ahead of schedule and reaching the final against Japan, winning the championship 165-81.
The children’s team swept the top three, while there were two teams competing in the junior women’s group.
The second team, represented by Shanghai Chenyi, was defeated by Indonesia 110-39 in the final, while the first team finished in third place.
On the last day of the MP pairs competition, China’s women’s team, Lian Danghong and Wang Yuyang, won the title.
The Chinese delegation has been the competition’s biggest winner.
The Asia Pacific Bridge Federation Youth Championship, the highest level event in the Asian Pacific area, was first held in 1989. China has won 10 championships in 23 years of youth competition.
