Teenagers from 10 ASEAN countries toured Suining, a city with 1,660 years of history in Southwest China’s Sichuan province, from Aug 7 to 8.

They were participants in the 6th China-ASEAN Teenagers Culture Exchange Festival.

The city is famous for its temples and vases, which have existed for thousands of years. “All the historical relics are well preserved in here, I learned a lot during my visit to Suining, especially about making pottery, which was a very unique experience to me,” said Bhoshogo, who is from Malaysia, at the Sichuan Song Porcelain Museum.

They also visited an ecological garden to learn how to plant grapes, and talked with local young entrepreneurs and college student village officials to discuss their ideas on rural construction.

“From the visit, I found Suining very modern and people here are really hard-working. There are similar innovation and entrepreneurship enterprises in my country, but it’s not as perfect as it is here. I’ll recommend to my family and friends what I have learned here,” said Soknalys from Cambodia.

According to Chen Min, deputy chief of the Sichuan people’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, teenagers are the main force for the regional relationships, and he hopes the teenagers who participate will become messengers between China and their home countries.
