Hong Xiaoyong, China’s ambassador to Singapore, delivers a speech at the opening of

The 2018 Singapore-China Youth Art Festival opened in Singapore China Cultural Center on July 6. Hong Xiaoyong, China’s ambassador to Singapore, attended the event.

More than 200 performers from China and Singapore took part at the ceremony. The art festival, which will last a month, will showcase children’s play created by China National Children’s Theatre, children’s musical performed by teenagers from both countries, and other events.

“The sustained good relationship between China and Singapore is inseparable from the friendly interaction between people from both countries. Cultural exchanges are the source of water. Holding the art festival promotes exchange and interaction between the youth of both countries, enabling more young Singaporeans to gain a deeper understanding of the Chinese culture and contemporary China,” said Hong Xiaoyong,China’s ambassador to Singapore.
