Forbidden City entices students with Chinese culture
More than 40 students from 18 Asian, African and European countries visited the Forbidden City on July 27, 2016, as part of a program to give them face-to-face experience with Chinese culture.
The event was organized by the Bureau for External Cultural Relations of Ministry of Culture, Foreign Cultural Exchange Center and China Arts and Entertainment Group, which included several cities in China. The students who attended are top performers in China Culture Centers, and ardent fans of traditional Chinese culture.
They learned about Chinese culture in these centers, including the Chinese language, paintings and martial arts.
Song Jirong, vice director of the Palace Museum, introduced public education programs of the organization on a case-by-case basis. The programs combine collections and exhibitions on specific themes, and have emerged as effective, popular platforms for the dissemination of Chinese culture.
