Tai chi show performed by Chinese together with locals to welcome the New Year of the Monkey in Mauritius. Chinese in Mauritius originate mostly from Meizhou in Guandong province. A vibrant community of about 20,000 third and fourth generation Chinese out of a population of 1.3 million has blended well and contribute actively in all spheres of Mauritian society while still maintaining and nurturing strong ties with their ancestral roots.
