( CICA )

From 2013 to 2017, the program has funded Sinologists from 22 countries as well as 41 books on Chinese culture from foreign publishing houses, promoting the development of Sinology and Chinese studies abroad. It has also invited many foreign Sinologists, including Hasna Jasimuddain Moundud, Wilt L. Idema and Leonard Blussé, to conduct cultural exchanges. From Oct 25 to 31, 2017, CICA held the first "Exchange Seminar of Chinese and Foreign Scholars on Historical and Cultural Comparison Between the Rhine River and the Yangtze River" in Shanghai and other places, cooperating with the China Cultural Media Group Co Ltd and Fudan University. Fourteen top scholars from Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, the United States and Hong Kong who specialized in history and culture along the Rhine River, as well as 15 Chinese scholars specialized in research on history and culture along the Yangtze River, participated in the activity and made a field survey of cultural resources in the Yangtze River Delta region.

Launched in 2011, CYAP organized experts to select 135 outstanding artists out of a pool of 1,328 to participate in the project.

Since 2012, the 135 young artists in the project have participated in nearly 20 exhibitions and exchange activities held in Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Germany, the United States and other countries, including La Biennale di Venezia, International Istanbul Biennial, Art Miami, theme exhibitions of the Moscow Museum of Contemporary Art, China International Young Artists Festival and Art Exposition Beijing. CYAP also invited experts in the field to organize master classes, arranged visits to artists' studios, improved the database of young artists, and carried out in-depth cooperation with national authoritative art data platforms and international arts funds. It enables Chinese young artists to be seen by global art galleries, art institutions and other institutions with cultural influence, and gradually facilitates cooperation. Through the works of these young artists, the world can recognize the current situation of contemporary Chinese artists' creations at a professional level and the particularities of their times and regions. Thus the creativity of Chinese young artists can be demonstrated to the world.

To improve art categories covered by the program, 79 young artists, including 57 specialized in contemporary art and 22 in traditional art, were added to the program in 2014, which had a theme of “Chinese Ink”.
