In China, since ancient times, watching and enjoying the glorious full moon is one of the many practices to celebrate the Mid-Autumn festival, which falls on Sept 8 this year. The moon on that night is believed to be the brightest and fullest of the whole year.

Not everyone can have the luxury of appreciating the moon by the seaside, but if you happen to live by the sea or travel to coastal places on that day, you will marvel at how nature has worked to present you such amazing wonder. You’ll see it when you watch the moon seem to slowly rise from the sapphire blue ocean, not to mention the romantic feelings you get when your feet step upon the soft sand, with your eyes shadowed with the veil-like moonlight.

With such a mesmerizing fantasy in mind, we recommend some of the best seaside moon watching spots in China and abroad.
