The UAE Embassy to China held an event celebrating the International Day for Tolerance to raise awareness of the value of tolerance on Friday. A delegation of students from Beijing Shijia Branch Primary School and many distinguished friends of the embassy from educational, cultural and artistic sectors in China attended this event.
The event showcased a variety of cultural activities celebrating the International Day for Tolerance. The event began with a short film about the UAE and an introductory presentation covering the seven emirates of UAE. It also included several activities, such as introducing students to the word "tolerance" in a variety of languages, and let them draw their own interpretations of the word. They also learned to identify hand gestures from different countries and cultures while promoting global tolerance and acceptance.
Chinese students presented artistic performances, such as opera, as a gift to the embassy. Those performances aimed to introduce Chinese culture to other countries and cultures. The embassy concluded its activities by offering some traditional Emirati dishes to students to introduce them to the culture of UAE and to cultivate a culture of acceptance at all levels.
