Dyeing techniques in China, which can be traced back over 1,000 years, are more than a way of cloth making. They create beautiful patterns with natural dye, usually extracted from plants. The understated aesthetics are back in vogue. More people put comfort before decoration and are beginning to appreciate eco-friendly material, like linen, and natural dyeing.
On Tuesday, an exhibition featuring 100 examples of dyed works from 62 Chinese artists opened in Taiwan. The event will run through Oct 20.
