Dong Qiang, dean of the French Literature Department of Peking University, highlighted the importance of fostering friendship and goodwill during cultural exchange. "In my experience, discovering similarities connects people faster than anything else. We could pay more attention to the Chinese values that are shared around the globe instead of simply stressing upon China's uniqueness," he said.

Feng Minghui, editor of China Culture Website, praised Brahm's understanding of China. "There are many interesting details and personal experiences in Brahm's writings, which would be even better if more Chinese heritages can be explored, such as Chinese martial arts and the Beijing courtyard," she said.
