A series of sessions, exhibitions and fashion shows were held in Hami on August 17 and 18, to evaluate and publicize traditional Hami handicrafts. It aims to combine tradition and modernity, as well as integrate antique and vanguard. Mi Zuo's products were on display at the exhibitions.
Lots of achievements have been made over the past five months. First, more than 2,550 embroiderers have been trained. They are now equipped with advance skills and have become more business-savvy and sensitive to the market. Besides, more young people are inspired to be professional or part-time embroiderers and carry on the traditional craft.
Plus, an order-based production model has been adopted. More than 10,000 orders have been received and 300 kinds of products have been created and sold. This way, local embroiderers have raised their income by 1,200 yuan to 3,000 yuan.
Hami embroidery now has a bright future.
