On May 20, the "Moodbox" entourage began their six-day cultural tour of Hami. The lead designer Qin Xu visited a 71-year-old who has been making embroidery for 65 years. Her commitment impressed and inspired the young designers.
Mi Zuo, which literally means "made in Hami", was launched at a news conference of Xinjiang's traditional Hami embroidery brand strategy on August 8. Mi Zuo is the first brand in this field. It sells the fruits of cooperation of local embroiderers and the three designer groups.
Mi Zuo's birth has something to do with the first traditional culture work studio established by the Ministry of Culture in Hami in March. Atron, the Academy of Arts and Design of Tsinghua University, and the local government reached an agreement to promote the traditional Hami Uygur embroidery through the market and create a brand, namely Mi Zuo.
