The Dundunliang Beacon Tower, a relic of military architecture of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), was accidently destroyed in June 2015 during the construction of a water project in Xi'an Town, Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region. The subsequent renovation of the relics was also stopped when it failed to meet technical standards and exceeded expected costs. Ningxia is home to many old great walls and faces pressure to persevere and renovate them. [Photo/Xinhua]
