The cemetery is also identified as the only tomb excavated south of the Yangtze River with real vehicles. Li Xiaojie, vice minister of Culture and director of the State Bureau of Cultural Relics, has ordered that cemetery site should aim to apply for UNESCO's world heritage listing.
Jiangxi's provincial cultural department used high-tech sampling and recording to document information and data during the whole excavation. Several labs and research teams have been set up to work separately on archaeo-botany, zoo-archaeology as well as studies on textiles, metals and historical records.
