Q: What is the original positioning of Fotoplace?
Y: We had wanted to make it a social website. But our background program was not strong enough back then, when too many users logged in at a time, it broke down. So the past several months, we've been working on the background program, we also introduced some big data processing program to make it more user-friendly. With such improvements, the social function of Fotoplace would be better. Now we have the capacity for hosting several million users at the same time.
Q: Some critics hope that Fotoplace could be a social networking site like Instagram or Pinterest, but you would rather make it a decentralized platform, with no VIP or celebrity account?
Y: We will not lay our eyes on some particular users, like celebrities. But we will recommend some quality contents by counting the "thumbs up" and calculating the pageviews to make them easier to see. We had a photographer base at the very beginning, and they have brought us tens of thousands users. We will not make FotoPlace an app that highlights celebrity involvement, we value the quality of the content. By the end of August, we will have an upgraded version where users may find quality content that interests them more easily.
