Professional judges and several Shenzhen residents reviewed 200 candidates and approved 68 certificates based on live performances, the artists' appearances, and public security awareness. And for those who didn't get a certificate, they would have to look for other opportunities for performance.
"Through regulated management, our association will look for other platforms like music festivals for those performers to play," said Zhou Zhenyu, Futian Performing Arts Association in Shenzhen.
The certificates are valid for one year. New applications and artist selections will continue each year but the number of certificates will remain at 68 due to limited performance opportunities.
