Time: Sept 5 – Nov 1, 2015

Curator: Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev

Theme: Seawater: A Kind of Theory in the Form of Thinking

Launched in 1987, the biennale has become one of the most important art events in the Islamic world, even with little support from public funds. The curator, Christov- Bakargiev said, "Artwork is like the seawater, which has different temperatures, salinity and waves, and exerts subtle influence on this world in the visible and invisible way. We express our sorrow, happiness through art, and at the same time, appreciate the meaning of life." The biennale in 2015 will present works from more than 50 visual artists.
