Color preference in Chinese culture has also shaped the way a German car looks. Gold, a highly valued color among Chinese people, inspired many designers, including Loasby.

"We have offered the most gorgeous and diversified color choice in China, while in the Europe, many people just choose black cars. Golden and dark red are very well received in Chinese culture." Loasby said.

Ma Jun, sculpture artist, presented his celebrated personal work, China•Car at the event. His artistic works in the New China series have been collected by art institutions at home and overseas.

An automobile represents the civilization of the West and it symbolizes speed, while china is the symbol of Chinese civilization that is static, Ma explained. "My work represents a reflection on modern life, a collision and contradiction of West and East civilization," Ma said.
