China International Vocal Competition (Ningbo)

Founded in 2000 and held every 3 years, the International Vocal Music Competition is one of the series of international musical competitions sponsored by the Ministry of Culture in China. China International Vocal Music Competition along with China International Violin Competition and China International Piano Competition are regarded as the "3 major musical competitions" in China. Additionally, it has joined the world league of international musical. Since the 3rd China International Vocal Music Competition in 2005, this event settles in Ningbo for good and has been successfully held for 4 periods.

The 6th China International Vocal Competition (Ningbo) was held from October 20th to October 31st , 2014 in Ningbo, China.

There are 4 winners for each male and female voice parts in this competition. The champions are Adrian Dumitru from Romania and Zhou Xin from China. Besides, winners of male voice part are Xiao Ma (China), Zheng Diyun (Korea), Yang Yang (China) respectively; winners of female voice part are Emmanuella Passcoo (Romania), Maria Liedtke (Russia) and Meini Galloy (Armenia). This vocal music competition also gives the “Award for Excellent Performance of Chinese Art Songs”. Li Yang (China) and Shi Rongmin (Korea) become the winners while Sun Mingli from Ningbo university is awarded the “Award for Outstanding Young Piano Accompanist”.
