China-ASEAN animation contest ends in Guangxi

The Animation Division Competition of the third China-ASEAN New Smart City Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition ended in Nanning, Guangxi, on Oct 30. The competition was hosted by the Nanning Municipal Development and Reform Commission, and jointly organized by the SCAPE National Youth Development Centre of Singapore and Singapore University of Social Sciences. A total of 12 teams from the creative group and the comprehensive group took part in the finals of the Animation Division Competition. The first, second and third prizes went to 10 works from both groups, including Tejue’s Filial Piety, Olive's Plan to Get Rich, Home Quarantine in Nanning, the "Bubble Girl" animation clothing brand, and the comic A Brief History of the Fight Against COVID-19.

 

The Animation Division, with the theme of “Looking for the Taste of Happiness”, collected 128 works from all over China. Entries for this year involved original comics, audio comics, animation derivative products, games, original animations and cultural products. After the preliminary selection, six teams from the two groups successfully entered the finals.

This year’s contest was conducted through a combination of online and offline modes while carrying out regular COVID-19 prevention and control measures. Professional and targeted pre-competition guidance was provided to participants before the finals.

On the first floor of the site for the finals, activities were carried out in response to the theme of the competition, attracting a large number of people to participate.
