Chinese children pay tribute to nurses

WACCCE 2020-05-29

May 12 is International Nurses Day. As nurses all dress in white uniforms, this is also the day for angels. In containing COVID-19, medical workers are heroes, who bravely rushed headfirst into disaster and fought this "war without smoke". They fought to save lives and made us better understand the significance of life. So on this special day, they and their families deserve the most beautiful art. At the same time, we hope to deliver best wishes to all mothers for Mother’s Day.

In the midst of the epidemic, there is another group of people. They provide spiritual support to frontline medical workers. They are the children of these heroes.

Though the virus is ruthless, human beings are endowed with love. The outbreak changed many children, seeing those who previously had no worries become more caring. Their parents had to leave their children for a time, as they chose to dedicate themselves to saving patients.

As in the musical “Where is the mom of little Butterfly” performed by China National Theatre for Children, the butterfly asks: “If Mom leaves her baby, then is she still a mom?” But what is more precious and valuable than a parent’s company is the dedication and the value of life they teach their children through action. Even though parents cannot always be with their children, they still carry their love with them. Jiao Gang, director of the musical, also prepared well-wishes for all medical workers and mothers. Let’s take a look.
