According to Yunnan province’s Department of Commerce, 86 Cambodian families donated 5,021 masks to China as the medical support for the fighting against the novel coronavirus. Those families were all in a poor condition and all had a child recovered from congenital heart disease with free treatment in Fuwai Yunnan Cardiovascular Hospital.

Tou Torng is one child of such families living in Radarakiri province of Cambodia. When he and his family learned that China was facing the pneumonia caused by an outbreak of the novel coronavirus, they immediately bought 100 masks from the local pharmacy and sent them to the office of Yundi, a foreign aid organization of Yunnan province, in Phnom Penh.

Eighty-five other families in the same condition as Tou Torng’s also donated masks to China. With the price of masks rising, it was not easy for those families to donate 5,021 masks.

Members of those families expressed their wishes for China to overcome the disease. They all thanked China for curing their children and wanted to make a contribution. Many other people in Cambodia aided by Yunnan also called for donating masks to China and recorded videos to encourage Chinese people.
