On Nov 30, 2019, a Thai-Guangdong youth painting exchange camp was started at the Consulate General of Thailand in Guangzhou, marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Guangzhou consulate.

Associate professor Ban Lu, dean of Bochang Art College in Thailand, professor Natapeng, dean of the Goxing International School of Creative Arts in Ledana, Thailand, and Professor Zhang Yan, dean of the Chinese Painting College at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, led more than 70 teenagers from China and Thailand to participate in the painting exchange camp.

Kong Queli, consul-general of the Royal Thai Consulate General in Guangzhou, said under the aegis of the Belt and Road Initiative and cooperation policy of Thailand and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the camp will cultivate art exchanges between teenagers from Guangzhou and Thailand, which is important for the long-term and extensive development of the two areas.

A student from Thailand told reporters the food and environment in Guangzhou impressed him. He hoped he could paint the Royal Thai Consulate General in Guangzhou under the blue sky.
