On July 22nd, as the last group of Myanmar teachers and students left Beijing, the week-long "Beijing-ASEAN youth college science camp" came to an end.

The ASEAN friends, aged from 15 to 19, with an average age of 15.6, embraced Beijing with friendly arms.

Pariwat Pichai from Thailand.

“I’ve made lots of friends from various cultural backgrounds which would help me know more about this world.”

Yang Shanren from Brunei.

“Initially, I was counting days to go back to Brunei, but now I’m very reluctant to leave Beijing. I hope I could be here next year.”

Nyan Lawe from Burma.

“I saw so many butterflies in other museums. I’ve learned and saw so much in the science camp.”

Yan Hongyao from Malaysia.

“ From this science camp, I found that China has the most advanced technology. We have known each other for a short time, but it seems that we have been friends for a long time.”

Chen Weichen from Malaysia.

“I was still in my mother’s stomach the last time I was in Beijing. This is the first time I have seen Beijing with my eyes. It is different from what I had imagined. It is very developed and advanced.”

Jeremy Deswen from Indonesia.

“I was so excited to have chance to experience such wonderful time with others. It’s an honor to be in Beijing, this open and inclusive city. We will meet again.”

Le Hoang Duc Anh from Vietnam.

“My first reaction was ‘let’s go’ when I heard that I would have opportunity to go to Beijing.”

In addition to visiting Science and Technology exhibition, the youth took part in fun sports activities, calligraphy lessons, straw weaving production.

The ASEAN science camp not only cultivates students’ interest toward science, but also enhances the mutual friendships between students from different countries.

At the closing ceremony, students were happy to get their certificates.
