The closing ceremony of the first Youth Art Festival and Malaysian Primary and Secondary School Folk Music Exchange took place on July 11.

At the opening ceremony on July 9, young students and teachers from all over the world took part in a traditional folk music show, playing the violin, cello and many traditional Chinese instruments like the Erhu fiddle and yangqin. They also gave some excellent performances including dragons rising and tigers, Yimeng minor, Katyusha and so on, giving a wonderful experience to the audience.

During the event, a variety of activities were held, such as competitions, artistic exchange with experts, lectures by renowned masters and discussions on national music, displaying the art and charm of music culture.

With such a wealth of knowledge, experience and creativity present, attendees were invited to discover and learn more about musical instruments as well as the lives and practice of the musicians.

Lessons systematically introduced music culture and methodology to the students through briefings, films, music playing and demonstrations, giving them a great opportunity to get close to the high-level music on the international stage in Yimengshan Geopark.

This event marked an art exchange activity for teenagers all over the world to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and to celebrate the successful opening of Yimengshan Geopark.

It is of great benefit for China to integrate and develop art and culture internationally, and truly promote the Yimengshan Geopark to the world.
