Sponsored by the Nanning Culture and Tourism Bureau and undertaken by Nanning Art Museum, the festival has also successfully built a high-quality platform to show children's artistic talent, achieving a great deal in the past 26 years.

Leading planner Xie Chaoxu said because this year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the festival will hold a China-ASEAN Star selection competition, parent-child art fair, culture and art education conference, ASEAN international cultural exchanges and a series of activities for the annual Child Star Festival. Those activities will build a bridge between dozens of domestic cities and ASEAN countries to promote cultural exchange between teenagers from both China and ASEAN countries.

The newly organized children’s troupe will enhance children’s consciousness of the public and traditional culture through the adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales and Grimm's fairy tales. The theatre will hold one show every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 and 14:00, plays will be replaced every month and there will be a discount in May and June.
