Jinan kicks off tryout for Malaysian soccer cup

The tryout of the “Belt and Road” Golden Cup for young soccer players was launched in Jinan last week, with the aim to select young players to participate in the competition scheduled to be held in Malaysia. Many parents in Jinan called the officials to enquire about the event. Yin in Zibo said as the hub of soccer, Zibo was an excellent foundation for the game and that many schools in Zibo have their own soccer teams. She hoped that young players in Zibo can participate in the tryout in Jinan as well.

The first the “Belt and Road” Malaysia international youth football golden cup is scheduled for January 24 at the Chinese Football Association Base in Malaysia. The young players will be selected and trained by the sports department, tourism department and photography department of Jinan Times as well as soccer associations in Jinan. The competition adopts a closed training competition mode, and the young players from all over the world will train and compete together, learning from each other.

The competition is divided into two stages. The first is group matches and the second is knockout. The top two groups in the first round will proceed to the knockout stage, and others will take part in a friendly. During the selection and training, members of Luneng senior grade A team will be specially invited to serve as the technical consultants of the young players for guidance and training. Young players chosen will set out for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on January 23 and return on January 30. Application is due on November 30. Considering that some of the parents will go with their children, the organizers have developed a cost-effective travel plan for the parents. The Malaysia international youth soccer golden cup is the first step for young players, and they will visit other countries and some main cities in China on holidays as well after the competition in Malaysia. Via soccer, the players can not only improve their skills, but also broaden their knowledge of the customs of different places.
